Hi, I’m Bree — the photographer behind Tiny Dreamers Studio.

I’ve spent over 15 years capturing little ones’ biggest milestones, and cake smashes are one of my absolute favorites. There’s just something magical about watching a baby’s personality shine through as they dig into their very first birthday cake—sometimes dainty and curious, other times full-on messy and wild!

My goal is to make sure your session isn’t just about cute photos (though you’ll get plenty of those!), but also about creating a memory you’ll never forget. Because turning one is a big deal—and it deserves to be celebrated in style!

FAQ

Our cake smash sessions are actually a baby portrait session with the last set being a cake smash. These sessions are typically 1-2 hours in length plus viewing your session images. Our cake smash sessions start out much like our baby sessions. We typically start with optional family/sibling photos on one of our solid drops. Next we do 2 classic portrait sets utilizing our baby closet or your own clothing. These are usually done on solid, wood or fine art drops. Last will be the smash and splash cake smash and optional bubble bath in the tiny tub.

This is up to you! I show you the images taken and YOU get to choose your favorite images and decide what ones you would like to keep after your session takes place.

When it comes to your baby, leave everything up to me! I will send a planning questionnaire that asks questions about colors, styling, backdrops, outfits and any special requests you may have. All my sessions are designed with the family’s requests in mind.

To be honest it happens here and there but I purposefully plan shoots around your baby’s schedule so they arrive recently napped and fed and usually very happy! For babies with stranger danger we allow time for them to peruse the studio and warm up to me as I interact with you and they see I’m safe. I also send a pretty lengthy prep guide so your baby is prepared for the cake which can many times make babies upset. I have photographed hundreds of cake smashes and have a great system in place to get the best outcome we can from the photo shoot.

You may have noticed in some of my photos babies with large spoons. Although we do prepare baby for their cake prior to the session taking place sometimes babies just don’t want to eat it. And that’s ok. That’s why I call it a cake smash and not a cake eat! I promise my experience is why you want me to photograph your baby’s smash because I know how to work with your little one instead of forcing things on them.
