A baby’s first birthday is a special milestone that deserves to be celebrated in style. And what better way to do it than with a smash n splash photography session? Before your cake smash we will take photos on two classic sets and you have the option to take an updated family portrait. You can see some of my classic portraits under the Baby category of my website. I have a large baby wardrobe and provide all backdrops, props and outfits. Your cake smash photo shoot includes a fully custom set designed and built by Bree based on your chosen theme, style and colors. Because all sets are hand made no two are the same! I also include a matching outfit and cake. After they smash away baby can take a fun bath in our tiny tub to clean all that messy frosting off (and have a blast splashing around!)

Every family that leaves our studio will receive their favorite images as high resolution digital files and a print & product credit you can use towards any of the beautiful items I offer – books & albums, wall art, prints, gifts and more. My packages are as unique as you are!

Our cake smash sessions are actually a baby portrait session with the last set being a cake smash. These sessions are typically 1-2 hours in length plus viewing your session images. Our cake smash sessions start out much like our baby sessions. We typically start with optional family/sibling photos on one of our solid drops. Next we do 2 classic portrait sets utilizing our baby closet or your own clothing. These are usually done on solid, wood or fine art drops. Last will be the smash and splash cake smash and optional bubble bath in the tiny tub.

This is up to you! I show you the images taken and YOU get to choose your favorite images and decide what ones you would like to keep after your session takes place.

When it comes to your baby, leave everything up to me! I will send a planning questionnaire that asks questions about colors, styling, backdrops, outfits and any special requests you may have. All my sessions are designed with the family’s requests in mind.

To be honest it happens here and there but I purposefully plan shoots around your baby’s schedule so they arrive recently napped and fed and usually very happy! For babies with stranger danger we allow time for them to peruse the studio and warm up to me as I interact with you and they see I’m safe. I also send a pretty lengthy prep guide so your baby is prepared for the cake which can many times make babies upset. I have photographed hundreds of cake smashes and have a great system in place to get the best outcome we can from the photo shoot.

You may have noticed in some of my photos babies with large spoons. Although we do prepare baby for their cake prior to the session taking place sometimes babies just don’t want to eat it. And that’s ok. That’s why I call it a cake smash and not a cake eat! I promise my experience is why you want me to photograph your baby’s smash because I know how to work with your little one instead of forcing things on them.
